Nork Community Hall  & Social Club

The 'Playday' is all about having a fun musical experience, where the band and invited friends/musicians join us to spend a happy and relaxed day playing music. Well its not always that relaxing, we also like to challenge ourselves a bit too, with a couple of tricky pieces, even pieces you may have not seen before. As well as our conductors, Paula and Xavier we always invite at least one guest conductor, which makes it even more fun.

This year our guest conductor is David Cox FTCL, LTCL.

David is the Musical Director of the Croydon Symphonic Band and the Sutton Young Musicians Orchestra (to be confirmed)

The Nork Community Centre, which incorporates the Community Hall and the Nork Social Club is located on the edge of Nork Park. There is a car park available directly next to the Centre.

During the 'Playday' lunch break you could either take a walk or have a picnic in the park or even pop into the pleasant and relaxed atmosphere of the attached Social club, where you could sip a drink (or two).

Tea/coffee cake and biscuits will be available throughout the day, but it would be a good idea to bring a packed lunch along with you (picnic in the park). Banstead Village is about a 10 minute drive away, where you will find shops, pubs and restaurants.

As this is always a very popular day, please book your place by giving your name to Mike or Helena or email us at

We are also looking forward to playing along side our friends and other musicians, so please give their names to Mike or Helena, as they will need to balance the band sections.

The nearest railway station is Banstead, which is an 18 minute walk to the Nork Community centre. We can arrange to pick people up from the station, if required.

The cost is £15 per person
